When we go to Trader Joes, we always buy several bottles to have on hand, because it goes with everything. In all of my Trader Joe's drinking, this is one of the best, most consistent bottles for the price.
It is balanced with the perfect depth with notes of cherries and plums. The more you let it open up, I get notes of a chocolate-covered blueberry.
It is from the vineyards in Calatayud in Spain and the grapes are grown in poorly gravelly soil - and it is the stress from those growing conditions that makes it subtly complex.
It is a beautifully simple illustration on the bottle and looks great on the table.
