The color of the wine is a dark, nice shade of purple deep red. Nothing on the nose is too overpowering, and I get notes of blackberry fruit leather with some plum and hints of oak spice and vanilla.
It drinks pretty smooth and silky. The palate is eerily similar to the nose - blackberry fruit leather with some intermingled ripe black cherry and with a little zing of tart (cranberry?). Let this wine breathe for at least a few hours for the notes to really hit.
It's a pretty dull and uninspired wine for the type of cabernets I prefer, but overall balanced and dry with only a medium finish. Overall, the price is reflective of the wine in this case, leaving me pretty disappointed and on the hunt to find a much better TJ's cabernet that is more exciting and bold.
